Here's what the runners said about the inaugural race:

What a great day! The Inaugural Middle Half Marathon was truly a success! We were impressed by the outpouring of volunteers and fans. The aid stations were perfectly spaced. The traffic control was excellent. The route was delightful – showcasing Murfreesboro and provided a varied course. The finish at the track was superb. I thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience and look forward to next year’s event! Thanks for all your hard work - Lisa M.

Excellent race today! I wish you could turn the heat and humidity down a little, but other than that, it seemed like a flawless race. Everything from pre-race to post-race to crowd support and food and drink was great! Well done! Plus I set a PR! - Bill M.

Dear Race Committee:

Congratulations. You have presented the best quality road race that I have ever been in, and I have run in events from Colorado to Maine. First came the spacious parking. The course was the perfectly layed out, monitored and protective of the runners; you must have used thousands of those barrier barrels. The clock at the halfway point of the race, and having our halfway times recorded is a great feature. Next came the cold towels at the finish. I wish every race could have these cold towels: they are so great for the finishers, and I hope you continue this feature. The food spread was unbelievable, the best I have seen.

I wasn't able to stay for the awards because I had a three hour drive home, then lost an hour to the time zone and we were attending the UT football game Saturday. I'm sure they were just as first rate.

If you can keep your race direction team together I think you will have no trouble doubling the limit of runners to 2000 next year and still maintain your excellent quality, if you choose to do so.

Thank you for a making my trip worthwhile. - Bob B.

Thank you for putting on such a great race. You should be congratulated on putting on an almost perfect race, despite the fact that you only had a few months of preparation.

Not only did you put on a good competitive race you also introduced a large number of people to the City of Murfeesboro. Until this weekend, for myself and some other out of your area runners, Murfreesboro was just an exit on I-24 between Atlanta and Nashville. Now I will know that it is a beautiful city that I will visit again. Hopefully to run again in The Middle Half.

Again, congratulations and thanks. - Dennis M.

Just a quick note to congratulate you on a terrific race. Very well organized, excellent facilities, lots of volunteers on the course to keep us in the right place (even with a couple of tricky corners :-). I completely enjoyed it, and plan to run again next year. And tell any of my buddies here in Nashville they should consider it...

I get the feeling it could be as big as you guys want it to be... - J.C.Y.

I run a lot of races and truly I can not think of anything about your Half Marathon that merits complaint except perhaps that it was a hot day. Since you can not control the temperature, the ice cold towels at the finish were WONDERFUL! No complaints here. You guys did a great job. I liked that the awards were given out on time and that the door prize numbers were pulled prior to the awards. - Donna W.

I just wanted to say thank you for all your efforts in putting on the half marathon. I thoroughly enjoyed the event. The course was great, all the volunteers were friendly, and the finish at the soccer stadium was very nice. I loved the pizza and the cold wet towels. I also wanted to say thanks for the technical runner's shirts. They are very nice too. My girlfriend ran in the race too and she could not say enough good things about the shirts. She loved the fact that they were gender specific and that it actually fit her. She is only 5' 1" tall and the ladies small fits her perfectly. Most ‘small’ shirts she receives at runs are too big for her. Nice job! The finishers medals were also very nice. Nice design. Nice colors

We both had a great time and are already looking forward to running the race next year. Thanks again for all your hard work. It is nice to have a race like this in my home town.

- Kevin H.
