Beating the Heat in Tennessee
It’s been an unseasonably hot weekend in Tennessee for April. And October is usually unpredictable as well. We’ve planned plenty of water stations along the route…one every two miles for Miles 1-6, and one every mile for the last half of the race.
Accelerade will also be at the water stations. Try it out during your training; it contains a ration of carbs and protein which extends endurance, speeds muscle recovery, enhances rehydration and reduces muscle damage.
The past 2 years firemen have had a water spray that runners could run through (optional!), and we plan to have that feature this year as well.
Of course, the finish area will have plenty of water, snacks and Purity popsicles. Middle Half runners are the coolest!
