Need a little help? Join a Team!

Some runners have no problem with self-motivation. But many of us need an extra incentive to get those shoes on and head out the door for our daily training run.

The Middle Half is partnering with several charities that may be just the answer to those “maybe I’ll just stay inside and watch The Office reruns” excuses. There’s nothing more motivating than knowing there’s a team depending on you!

Special Kids’ Team A.S.K. (Athletes for Special Kids) raises funds for Special Kids, Inc., a local rehabilitation facility for special needs children. The program includes weekly coaching schedules, team workouts, monthly team educational clinics, team ASK materials, team shirts and a pre-event pasta dinner the night before the race. This year there will also be a Kids’ Team A.S.K… call Coach Rick at (615) 890-1003 for more information.

2009 is the fifth year for Team Rio, who raises pledges for the children of Big Brothers Big Sisters… while also providing an excellent role model and promoting physical fitness to Middle Tennessee’s youth. Members of the Diamond Rio team are gearing up for the Middle Half… check their website often for updates.

Just one more reason to lace up those shoes!
