
About The Race
The 2nd Annual Murfreesboro Half Marathon is limited to the first 2000 registered runners who are at least 14 years-old on race day. The inaugural event sold out in only 34 days. Early registration is encouraged!
Race Date & Time
October 11, 2008
Wheelchair Start: 6:55 a.m.
Half Marathon Start: 7:00 a.m.

Parking
Ample parking is available at MTSU.
Course closing
The course will reopen to traffic on a continuous pace of approximately 15 minutes per mile. Anyone who cannot maintain this pace must move to the side to allow traffic to resume. The entire course will reopen to traffic at 10:30 a.m.

The following items are not permitted on the course: pets, baby/jogging strollers, bicycles, skateboards, roller blades, bandits (unregistered runners).
The Murfreesboro Half Marathon abides by the USATF regulation which prohibits the use of electronic music devices.
These regulations are for the safety of all race participants. The Murfreesboro Half Marathon reserves the right to disqualify and remove anyone from the course who has any of the above items, NO EXCEPTIONS.
Bib Number
Bib number must be visible and worn on the front outside of clothing during the entire race.
Bib number is nontransferable and must be worn by the registrant to whom it has been assigned.
Timing Chip
The timing chip, provided by Best Times ChampionChip Tennessee, Inc., is nontransferable and must be worn only by the participant to whom it was assigned.
The timing chip must be secured only to your shoe; carrying it in your hand or elsewhere will not record your time.
Without a chip, your time will not be recorded.
If you drop out of the race, please notify a course official. You will be transported to the MTSU track. Do NOT cross the finish line.
A $30 replacement fee will be charged to any participant who fails to return the chip at the finish line.
You may use your personal chip. Please provide this information when you register.

• Overall Male & Female Winners: 1st, $500; 2nd, $250; 3rd, $150
• Masters, Male & Female Winners: 1st $125; 2nd, $100; 3rd, $75
• Grand Masters, Male & Female: 1st, $125; 2nd, $100; 3rd, $75
• First Rutherford County resident, Male & Female: $50
• Wheelchair: $125 for First Prize. If more than 5 Wheelchair participants, a Second Prize ($75) will be awarded.
• Course Record Bonus: $50

• Age Group Awards, 3 deep, Male & Female: 19 and under, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75+.
All finishers will receive a commemorative race medallion.
All registrants will receive a gender-specific running shirt.
Awards will not be mailed. You must claim your award on race day or it will be forfeited.
Award winners are eligible for only one monetary prize, with the exception of the Rutherford County Award and the Course Record Bonus.

brightroom, Inc. is the official photography service for The Murfreesboro Half Marathon. Smile when you see them on the course and as you cross the finish line! Photographs, posters, etc, may be ordered online after the race.
