Murfreesboro Greenway System
The greenways are available for you to enjoy nature hikes, walking, running, bicycling, or in-line skating along the 12 miles of riverside trails. The Murfreesboro Greenway System connects historical sites, parks, neighborhoods and businesses; it also serves as a conservation corridor to preserve precious natural and cultural resources. Eleven trailheads provide access to the Murfreesboro Greenway System.

Stones River National Battlefield
The park is open to visitors on foot or bicycle from sunrise to sunset every day by using trails from the Stones River Greenway or parking at the Hazen Brigade Monument Tour Stop #5 parking lot on Old Nashville Highway.

Gateway Island
This latest addition to the Murfreesboro Greenway System showcases a state-of-the-art reception center, gazebo, cascading waterfalls, fountains and lake overlook. Adjacent to a lighted greenway section, the island is located conveniently to the Gateway local businesses and Middle Tennessee Medical Center. 2.2 miles of well-lit trail.
